Esker Annual Solemn Novena: Tuesday June 5th to Wednesday June 13th.


The Divine Child, looking towards his Heavenly Father: 'A body you have given to me: see, I have come to do your will'.

The Annual Esker Solemn Novena will take place at the Redemptorist Church in Esker, Athenry, Co. Galway, from Tuesday 5th to Wednesday 13th of June, 2018. Everyone is welcome.

‘God is in everyone’s life. Even if the life of a person has been a disaster. God is in this person’s life. You have to trust God.’   Pope Francis.

Novena Times:  Weekdays: 8am, 10am, 4pm, 6pm, 8pm, 10pm.

Sunday: 8am, 10am, 12 noon: 4.30pm, 6pm, 8pm.

Confessions will be heard before and after each session of the Novena in Esker, with the exception of Sunday.

Special Events in Esker:  Saturday June 9th:  Mass & Anointing of the Sick at 12 noon.

‘Mater de Perpetuo Succursu’ – ‘Mother of Perpetual Help’

Sunday June 10th: Blessing of Babies and small children at all sessions.

Our Preachers are:

Neil Foley lives near Wexford Town in the Diocese of Ferns where he is involved in several prayer and music ministries. His latest collaborations are on the Hook of Faith digital evangelisation project and with the Mustard Seeds contemporary worship group., both of which can be followed on Facebook. He is married to Helen, has a Certificate in Pastoral Theology and works as an environmental scientist.

Fr. Peter Hill C.Ss.R. is a native of the island of Dominica in the Caribbean Sea. Peter was ordained in 2008 and then served in parishes throughout the next 8 years. Currently Peter is involved in the formation of Redemptorists while also pursuing doctoral studies. In his spare time Peter enjoys reading, scuba diving, tennis, and exploring new cultures.

Fr. Tony Rice C.Ss.R. hails from Belfast City where most of his family still live. He joined the Redemptorists in 2001 and was ordained in 2009. Tony currently is our Vocations Director, has responsibility for Redemptorist students and also works as a psychotherapist. To relax, Tony enjoys watching the latest movies, having meals with friends and catching up on sleep.
