The death has occurred in Limerick, on Sunday November 29th, of Fr. Joseph (‘Joe’) McLoughlin, Redemptorist. Although he had been unwell for some time past, his death was unexpected. May his dear soul rest in peace. Fr. Joe was a much loved member of the Redemptorist community in Mount St. Alphonsus, Limerick, and a much-loved member of the Irish Redemptorist Province. He will be mourned also in our Vice-Province of Fortaleza, where he had ministered for nearly forty years, beginning 1964, until his return to Ireland c. 2001.
In Limerick, he was known for his knowledge and love of the Scriptures, and he shared that knowledge gladly with many people, in his teaching and sharing groups in the city. Always totally dedicated to his ministry as a Redemptorist, we pray that he will experience a great Céad Míle Fáilte in the halls of heaven. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis!
