Lent is a journey, a journey we make together. It is a journey back home to who we are, the children of a loving God. No matter how far from ‘home’ we have gone, we can always come to our senses, and turn again for home. We are guaranteed the greatest welcome.
In time of Covid and of lockdown, it’s a time for families to talk together about how the family can ‘journey home to God’, together: a time for prayer, for generosity, for simplicity of life, for depth, and for letting go so much that was really empty.
We begin Lent with ashes and with dust. We end it with the empty tomb and the promise of eternal life. ‘I am the Resurrection and the Life!’ ‘Come back to me with all your heart’ and hearts.
Daily Mass in Esker continues, at 10am Weekdays, and 11am on Sundays.
